Healing

Healing is “letting-go” through deep processing, the burden of stories, limiting beliefs and fear based living from the legacy we inherit from tauma.

Trauma leaves its imprint on our mind, body and soul. It looks different for everyone – but, may appear as a feeling of helplessness, a loss of control, extreme numbness or pain, constant fear, shame, not liking yourself, unhelpful coping strategies, stuckness, self critical, perfectionism – or a combination of the above, making living with self and in the world unsafe.

Healing is Freedom from Trauma

Healing occurs when we are able to witness our stories, limiting beliefs and fear based living  we inherit from the legacy of trauma with compassion.

Safe Space Mission

At Safe Space, our mission is deeply rooted in creating a sacred haven for holistic healing, a refuge we lovingly call ‘safe space.’ Here, we are committed to serving individuals seeking transformation through a combination of science-based practices like psychotherapy and the timeless wisdom of ancient healing traditions, including yoga and meditation.

With compassion as our core value, we alchemize trauma into self-discovery, emotional balance, and resilience, providing a sanctuary where individuals, regardless of background, can freely release trauma from their body, mind, and soul. Our unique approach fosters a community where everyone is empowered to embark on a transformative journey towards healing, self-mastery and well-being.

Our Values

Courage

to visit the imprints of trauma, and the residual pain it evokes in our life.

Compassion

to process and heal the pain and rediscover your true-self- you are not your trauma.

Wisdom

to understand your true meaning and purpose, through the journey of healing to the wisdom of trauma.

Our Aim

A Holistic Approach

At Safe Space, we understand that trauma affects the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Our holistic approach integrates therapies that nurture physical well-being, promote emotional healing, and support soulual growth. Yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and other holistic practices are woven into our programs to complement traditional therapy.

In the mind, trauma shows up as stagnation, limiting beliefs, circular thinking, and fear-based living. We treat the mind with modern psychological techniques to give you clarity and release through patterns that no longer service you.

In the body, trauma manifests as illness, an inability to motivate, and feeling “stuck.” We treat the body with yoga and dance therapy to release trauma stored in your body and allow you to move and feel freely again.

In the soul, trauma causes dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and discontent. We treat the soul with meditation and mindfulness techniques to realign you with your true self and highest purpose.

Safe space will work with you to curate your healing journey based on your unique struggles, patterns and goals. A combination of therapy and healing modalities like yoga, breathwork etc. and regular check ins, we are committed to supporting you in your journey of transformation.

If you’re ready to embark on a journey of profound healing, join us, and together, let’s unlock the doors to a Life Beyond Trauma.

How Trauma Affects Your Life

Trauma refers to a psychological and emotional response to a distressing or disturbing event or series of events. Trauma can have a profound impact on an individual’s mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. It can affect how a person thinks, feels, and behaves, often leading to a range of symptoms and challenges.
Trauma can be caused by a variety of experiences, including but not limited to:
  • Physical Trauma: Such as accidents, injuries, or life-threatening illnesses.
  • Emotional or Psychological Trauma: Resulting from events like abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual), neglect, betrayal, or witnessing a traumatic event.
  • Natural Disasters: Such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, or wildfires.
  • War or Conflict: Including exposure to combat, displacement, or the loss of loved ones.
  • Loss or Grief: The death of a loved one, divorce, or other significant losses can be traumatic.
  • Childhood Adversity: Experiences of adversity during childhood, known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), can have long-lasting effects.
Trauma can lead to a range of emotional and psychological symptoms, including but not limited to:
  • Flashbacks: Vivid and distressing recollections of the traumatic event.
  • Anxiety and Panic: Intense fear, worry, and heightened arousal.
  • Depression: Persistent sadness, hopelessness, and feelings of worthlessness.
  • Dissociation: Feeling disconnected from oneself or the world.
  • Avoidance: Efforts to avoid reminders of the trauma.
  • Hyperarousal: Being constantly on edge, easily startled, or irritable.
  • Guilt and Shame: Feeling responsible or ashamed about the trauma.
  • Difficulty Trusting: Struggling to trust others or feeling unsafe in relationships.
It’s important to note that trauma affects individuals differently, and the response to trauma can vary widely. Some people may recover with time and support, while others may experience long-lasting effects that require therapeutic intervention.
